PutraJaya, the country's new administrative centre, was declared the 3rd Federal Territory on 1 February 2001. The 4,900-hectare PutraJaya, our nation's new federal administrative hub was built at a cost of some RM2.2 billion or more. It has been billed 'The City for the Future' because of its high-tech contents and is also known as "Malaysia's first Intelligent Garden City'. According to the Straits Times, it is also fast becoming a 'hot tourist attraction'.
